Oncology Rehab Services
Regain Strength, Confidence & Control Through Every Stage of Treatment.
Cancer changes your life, but it doesn’t have to define it. Whether you’re undergoing treatment, or finding your way after it, our program is here to support you in reclaiming your strength, building confidence, and reconnecting with what matters most.
How We Can Support You
Our Oncology Rehabilitation program is led by Pip (Physiotherapist) and Monika (Exercise Physiologist), who specialise in helping individuals regain strength, manage symptoms, and rebuild confidence through movement.
- Hands-On Care: Gentle manual therapy to support mobility, scar management, and lymphoedema treatment.
- Personalised Exercise Rehabilitation: Tailored one-on-one exercise programs designed to rebuild strength, improve movement, and support recovery at a pace that suits you.
- Group Rehab Classes: Small-group movement-based sessions in a supportive, empowering environment—helping you regain energy, stamina, and confidence alongside others on a similar journey.
- Fatigue & Function Support: Practical strategies to boost energy levels, improve daily movement, and help you feel more in control of your recovery.
Our program is designed to help you move confidently at your own pace, with care that evolves with your needs. Whether you prefer one-on-one support or small group sessions, we provide specialist care tailored to our goals, abilities, and treatment stage.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Your Oncology Rehab journey starts with a one-on-one assessment with one of our experienced allied health professionals. During this session, we will:
- Understand your medical history, current treatment stage, and any concerns you have.
- Assess your movement, strength, and mobility to develop a tailored plan.
- Discuss your goals—whether it’s reducing fatigue, improving strength, or returning to daily activities.
- Create a care plan that works for you, which may include one-on-one sessions, rehab classes, or home exercises.
Who Is Eligible?
- If you have had a cancer diagnosis at any time in your life, you are eligible.
- No referral is needed—you can start when you’re ready.
- Funded by AWRCC—covering your initial assessment and first term of group classes.
- You can start at any stage of your treatment or recovery—whether you’re currently undergoing treatment or adjusting to life post-cancer.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes! Research shows that supervised exercise is safe and beneficial for most people undergoing cancer treatment. Our team ensures all movement is gentle, controlled, and adapted to your energy levels.
Fatigue is one of the most common side effects of cancer treatment. Our sessions are flexible and tailored to how you feel each day, whether that means adjusting intensity or focusing on breathwork and mobility.
This varies depending on your needs. Some patients attend once or twice a week, while others prefer a structured program for several months. Your therapist will guide you based on your condition and goals.
We understand that financial considerations can be a factor when accessing care. Many of our Oncology Rehabilitation services are funded through the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre (AWRCC), covering your initial assessment and first term of group classes.
Depending on your individual circumstances, you may also be eligible for:
- Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plans, which provide rebates for allied health services with a GP referral.
- Private health insurance, which may cover part of some appointments, depending on your policy and level of extras cover.
If you’re unsure about your funding options, our team can help guide you through what’s available and what might apply to your situation.
